All my new releases and special editions launch with bookish Kickstarter events where you can get signed copies of the books, special editions, lux editions, exclusive merch, and insane bookish boxes!
You can buy a book any ol’ day, or you could become part of the entire experience of bringing one to life!
Prelaunch: My campaigns have a pre-launch period during which readers and backers can follow the page so they’re notified the moment it launches. This period usually lasts a few weeks. The point of following the pre-launch page is so you don’t miss out on launch-day goodies, limited quantities, and early bird gifts!
Launch Day! The campaign finally goes live to the world! If you’ve followed the pre-launch page, you’ll get a one-time email from Kickstarter inviting you to back the campaign while quantities last. Also, I love giving away launch day goodies and free gifts, so you definitely want to be there!
Unlock Bonus Rewards: Every campaign runs for a certain amount of time and can span from a few days to a few weeks. I really love a good 21-day campaign. This gives us lots of time to unlock bonus goodies! As new backers join in (or existing ones increase their pledges), the funding amount increases and new rewards are unlocked for all backers!
Grab Flash Sale Items: Throughout the 21-day campaign, I’ll add random flash sale items with limited quantities so backers can customize their bookish boxes or just level-up their goods. These items help push us closer to funding milestones so more free goodies are unlocked!
Campaign Ends: After the 21 days are up, the campaign ends, and Kickstarter collects everyone’s pledges (aka, they collect your moola!) Don’t fret if you can pay that day because Kickstarter will try again a few more times for about a week.
Rewards are Shipped: Kickstarter issues me the collected funds after about 14 days. That’s when I order things like the special edition books, boxes, merch, and other supplies. This usually takes several weeks, as a lot of items are custom-made and come from all over the world. Once all those things arrive in my shoppe, I then spend a couple of weeks meticulously packing everyone’s orders to be shipped out.
